High fluid loss lost circulation treatment Drilling and completion
A proprietary blend of granular and fibrous materials in a high solids formulation. H-Seal™ provides a one-sack solution for many lost circulation problems.
H-Seal provides effective sealing in a broad number of applications. It can be used to formulate a high fluid loss hesitation squeeze for total loss situations as well as for background treatments and in lost circulation pills.
When used in a squeeze treatment, the high solids will “de-water” and result in a solid mass that effectively seal natural and induced fractures as well as vugular formations.
When losses are not severe enough to require a high solids, high fluid loss squeeze, the material can be used in pill form to cure downhole losses.
In areas where seepage loss is expected or already occurring, mixing a low concentration as a background treatment can prevent seepage and reduce the likelihood of increased losses.
Providing a single product that covers a wide range of application scenarios results in reduced lost circulation product inventory at the wellsite. Because the product has a wide range of particle sizes and types, it can be effective in wide range of situations.
When formulated as a squeeze treatment, utilize 50 lb/bbl (145 kg/m3) of H-Seal per barrel (m3) of water and add barite as required for desired density. When mixed in drilling fluid for a pill application, 10-30 lb/bbl (25-90 kg/m3) is typically required. When used in a background application, concentrations of 2-8 lb/bbl (5-20 kg/m3) can provide effective mitigation of seepage and low rates of downhole losses
